Demand House Republicans condemn anti-Muslim bigotry now!

Congressional Republicans are escalating a dangerous campaign of anti-Muslim hate that has no place in our democracy. As reported by The Guardian, Representative Andy Ogles posted on social media that Muslims don’t belong in America, while Florida Congressman Randy Fine suggested that Muslims should be “destroyed” during a congressional hearing, according to Al Jazeera. These aren't isolated incidents — they reflect a pattern of bigotry that threatens the safety and dignity of millions of American Muslims.

House Speaker Mike Johnson's refusal to condemn this hate makes him complicit. As MS NOW noted on March 11th, Johnson did what he's done many times before: nothing. This silence enables racism and undermines the very values Congress is supposed to represent.

Public pressure has worked before — when Fine previously made inappropriate remarks, Democrats demanded his resignation and censure. We need that same urgency now. These Republicans don't deserve committee seats where they could influence legislation targeting Muslim communities. They deserve censure and removal from their positions of power.
