Congress: Investigate ICE’s Illegal Arrests of U.S. Citizens — Now

A U.S. citizen TV producer in Chicago was tackled and detained during an ICE raid. In Portland, another citizen was arrested outside his workplace and held for hours. These are not isolated incidents — they’re part of a growing pattern of Americans being wrongfully detained by immigration agents.

ProPublica reports that more than 170 U.S. citizens have been held by ICE this year alone. Many were jailed for days, denied legal counsel, and left without answers. The government doesn’t even track how many citizens it detains.

Congress must investigate now. We’re calling on the House Judiciary and Senate Homeland Security Committees to open public hearings, subpoena ICE records, and tie future funding to oversight and accountability.

Every day without action puts more innocent Americans at risk. If you believe no citizen should fear being detained by their own government, add your name to demand immediate congressional action.

Thanks,
Mary
