Congress Is Coming for Our Wildlife and Climate
The House is pushing an Interior Appropriations bill that would devastate our environment, dismantle wildlife protections, and block urgent climate action. This bill is a direct attack on the laws and safeguards that keep our air clean, our water safe, and our public lands protected for future generations.
Instead of addressing the climate crisis, this legislation would slash funding for clean energy programs, strip protections for endangered species, and greenlight fossil fuel projects that poison communities and accelerate global warming.
The bill’s climate rollbacks would hit the most vulnerable communities the hardest. From flooding and wildfires to polluted air and unsafe drinking water, the harms would be borne disproportionately by low-income families, Tribal nations, and communities of color. Yet, while people suffer, fossil fuel companies would profit — protected by a Congress that puts corporate donors ahead of public health.
We can stop this if enough of us raise our voices now. The Interior Appropriations bill is moving quickly, and lawmakers need to hear a loud, united rejection from constituents who care about our environment and wildlife. Public opposition has stopped similar attacks in the past — signatures, calls, and letters have turned the tide when enough people act.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. Once these protections are stripped away, the damage to endangered species, public lands, and our climate could be irreversible.
Protect our environment, safeguard wildlife, and invest in a sustainable future—not in the profits of polluters.
Thanks,
Mary
