Don’t Let RFK Jr. Replace Teen Health Care With Ideology

RFK Jr. is turning teen pregnancy prevention into a far-right social experiment — and young people will pay the price.

Trump’s HHS is steering teen pregnancy prevention money away from evidence-based programs and toward lessons focused on fertility tracking, abstinence, marriage, anatomy, and “reproductive goals counseling.” Public health funding should help teens stay safe and informed, not push a political agenda about their bodies and futures.

The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program exists to help young people prevent unintended pregnancy, avoid STIs, understand consent, and make informed decisions about their own health. Now HHS is canceling grants and rewriting the rules to fit an extremist worldview.

Tell HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Department of Health and Human Services: Restore evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention funding and stop replacing teen health care with far-right ideology.

Teenagers need facts, support, and trusted health information — not lectures designed to push them toward abstinence, marriage, and fertility tracking. Young people in high-need communities are often the first to lose access when public health programs are gutted. They should not be test subjects for RFK Jr.’s agenda.

The consequences are real. When teens lose access to accurate information, they face higher risks of unintended pregnancy, untreated STIs, shame, confusion, and fewer safe places to turn for help.

HHS controls these grants. RFK Jr. can reverse course, restore canceled funding, protect evidence-based standards, and stop using public health money to promote political propaganda. But he will not feel pressure unless we create it.
