Hands Off Our Healthcare — No War Tradeoffs

Congress is considering a deeply alarming idea: cutting Americans’ healthcare to help pay for the war with Iran.

According to Axios, Republican lawmakers are discussing healthcare cuts as one of several ways to offset the massive costs of military action. Outlets like MSNBC have also reported on this emerging proposal. It’s not finalized — but it’s real, and it’s happening now.

We’ve already seen the damage these policies can cause. Last year, Republicans passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which included roughly $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts while giving huge tax breaks to the wealthy. NBC News reports those cuts are already putting hundreds of hospitals at risk and threatening care for millions of Americans.

Now they’re considering going even further — taking healthcare away from families to fund another war.

This is exactly the moment when public pressure can stop a bad idea before it becomes law.

We can’t let them treat our healthcare like a piggy bank for war.
