Howard Lutnick Lied About Epstein. He Must Go.
New reporting has revealed that U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick maintained contact and business dealings with Jeffrey Epstein years after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution. These disclosures have sparked bipartisan calls in Congress for Lutnick to resign, and the pressure is growing daily.
Lutnick previously claimed he cut off contact with Epstein after 2005. But according to CNBC and Reuters, newly released emails and records show the two remained in touch well into the 2010s, including through business interactions and a lunch on Epstein’s private island. Forbes and The Guardian report that these meetings occurred years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction, directly contradicting Lutnick’s public statements.
This matters now. Reuters reports that Lutnick faced intense questioning at a recent congressional hearing, while Axios and NBC News note that pressure from lawmakers is escalating by the day. When public outrage grows, resignations happen — but only if people speak out.
Thanks,
Mary
