NBC: Don’t Let Trump Silence Seth Meyers
Major news outlets from NPR, USA Today, Rolling Stone, Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter, and HuffPost all reported the same shocking story:
Donald Trump demanded NBC fire Seth Meyers — and the FCC Chair amplified it.
Yes, the head of the FCC — the very agency that oversees broadcast licenses — reposted Trump’s attack on Meyers, giving it the weight of government pressure. That’s not commentary. That’s intimidation.
And it’s part of a pattern. Trump has increasingly targeted comedians and critics — from Jimmy Kimmel to anyone who mocks him — while his allies cheer on efforts to silence them.
Now, Trump wants NBC to kneel. If they do, it won’t stop with Seth.
This is the moment we push back.
NBC needs to hear — loudly and immediately — that the public will not tolerate political figures using government power to bully networks into firing critics. And they need to know millions of us expect them to defend their talent and protect a free press.
