Seniors at Risk: Tell the Senate to Stop the GOP’s Cruel Budget Bill
House Republicans have just passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”—a massive budget plan that puts older Americans in serious danger.
This bill slashes Medicare and Medicaid—the very programs seniors rely on for health care, long-term support, and independence. It also cuts SNAP, making it harder for fixed-income seniors to afford groceries—all while handing out huge tax breaks to the ultra-rich.
Now, will you send a letter directly to the Senate demanding they defend Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP?

If the Senate doesn't stop it, seniors across the country could lose access to essential services. The bill includes over $700 billion in cuts to Medicaid, threatening coverage for long-term care, home health assistance, and nursing home support.
Medicare, while not explicitly gutted, is left exposed to future reductions and premium hikes. And the cuts to SNAP would force many seniors to make impossible choices between food, prescriptions, or rent.
Meanwhile, the wealthiest Americans and large corporations would see enormous tax breaks. The richest 0.1% stand to benefit the most—all paid for by taking away care and dignity from seniors who’ve earned their benefits through a lifetime of work.
This bill isn’t about fiscal responsibility. It’s about shifting wealth upward while sacrificing the well-being of older Americans. The Congressional Budget Office confirms it: the benefits flow to the top, while the burdens fall squarely on everyday people.
You earned your benefits. Don’t let Congress take them away.
Thanks,
Mary
