Tell Congress to pass the Tariff Refund Act of 2026 now!

The Supreme Court has ruled that President Trump’s sweeping tariffs were imposed illegally. But American families are still paying the price.

According to CNBC and Politico, Senate Democrats have introduced the Tariff Refund Act of 2026 to return roughly $175 billion in tariff revenue collected under the unlawful policy. Lawmakers estimate that those tariffs raised prices so sharply that the average family paid about $1,700 more last year.

That’s money working families cannot afford to lose.

As Common Dreams reported, the legislation would require the federal government to issue refunds, delivering long-overdue relief to consumers and small businesses that absorbed the costs. Without congressional action, families could wait years for repayment.

When a tax is ruled illegal, the government has a responsibility to make people whole.
