Demand Secretary Hegseth provide full transparency about the use of xAI!

Senator Elizabeth Warren has raised urgent concerns about Elon Musk's xAI being granted access to classified Pentagon networks, despite serious safety risks that could compromise our nation's security. As reported by NBC News, Warren sent a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanding information about this dangerous arrangement and requesting an unclassified reply by March 27.

According to TechCrunch, the Pentagon's decision to grant xAI access to classified systems is particularly alarming given xAI’s chatbot, Grok, and its documented failures. The chatbot has been caught generating antisemitic content and creating thousands of nonconsensual sexual images, including child sexual abuse material. These aren't isolated incidents – multiple countries are currently investigating Grok for its dangerous outputs, as reported by BBC News.

The national security implications are profound. As NPR has documented, Grok's unreliability presents a clear and present danger when deployed on sensitive military networks. Unlike other AI systems, Grok lacks safeguards against generating harmful content, making it vulnerable to manipulation by adversaries who could exploit its weaknesses to extract classified information.

The Pentagon must immediately revoke xAI's access to classified networks. No AI system with such a demonstrated history of failures should have access to our nation's most sensitive information.
