Stop Pentagon's $200 Billion Iran War Cash Grab

As The Washington Post recently reported, the Pentagon is asking the Trump White House to request an additional $200 billion for the war in Iran — a deeply unpopular conflict that has already cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $11.3 billion in its first six days, according to The Independent. This staggering spending comes as 92 percent of Democrats, 63 percent of independents, and millions of Americans disapprove of this military action.

According to Common Dreams, we are witnessing the Iran war become a significant draining of resources in real time, removing funds that could be used for healthcare, education, and infrastructure while American families struggle. The Pentagon's $200 billion funding request represents an unprecedented escalation of this unauthorized conflict that threatens to spiral into a regional catastrophe.

This money belongs to the American people, not to fuel an illegal war that lacks congressional authorization and public support.

We call on Congress to immediately reject any request for $200 billion in additional funding for the Iran war.

Thanks,
Mary
