Stop Trump’s DOJ Revenge Campaign

The Department of Justice should serve the people — not any president’s grudges. But the pattern is unmistakable. First, former FBI Director James Comey was indicted. Now, New York Attorney General Letitia James faces fraud charges just days after Trump demanded her prosecution.

This isn’t a coincidence — it’s retaliation. Reports say career prosecutors objected to the case against Letitia James, warning it crossed ethical and legal lines. Their concerns were ignored. The message is clear: anyone who challenges the president risks becoming a target.

That’s not justice — it’s abuse of power. When a president can use prosecutors to silence critics, democracy itself is in danger.

Congress must act now. The House and Senate Judiciary Committees should open immediate hearings into White House interference at the DOJ, subpoena all relevant communications, and pass new laws to protect prosecutorial independence. Lawmakers must strengthen whistleblower protections and give the DOJ Inspector General full authority to investigate political influence.

Public outrage can still make a difference. When citizens speak out together, Congress is forced to respond.

Thanks,
Mary
