Stop Trump’s Kennedy Center Naming Scheme—Again

Donald Trump keeps trying to slap his name on everything he touches — and now he’s coming for the Kennedy Center again.

Trump and his allies already tried to put his name on this national cultural institution. A federal judge stopped them. Trump’s name came down. But instead of taking no for an answer, the Trump-controlled board has voted to put his name back on the building through a new inscription and to name the Center’s plaza after him.

They lost the first naming fight. Now they’re looking for a workaround.

Enough with the taxpayer-supported vanity projects. Public institutions are not billboards for Donald Trump’s ego, and Americans should not have to watch public resources, government attention, and legal fights get consumed by endless schemes to glorify one politician.

Congress created the Kennedy Center as the national memorial to President John F. Kennedy. Lawmakers must use their oversight, legislative, and funding authority to block this latest attempt to get around congressional authority.

Our tax dollars should support artists, performances, workers, education, and access to the arts — not political branding fights and vanity schemes.

The Kennedy Center belongs to the public — not Donald Trump.

Thanks for all that you do,
