Frank Bisignano, Donald Trump’s hand-picked Social Security Commissioner, is also serving as CEO of the IRS. That means one Wall Street executive now controls two of the most powerful agencies in the federal government, both holding the personal and financial data of nearly every American.

He stepped into these dual roles just days after leaving Fiserv, the financial-technology company he led into crisis.

As reported by Common Dreams and Bloomberg, Bisignano left Fiserv amid growing internal turmoil. MarketWatch detailed how the company’s stock plummeted due to his leadership decisions, while The New York Times noted that his personal fortune soared even as workers and shareholders were left behind.

Now, that same CEO has access to every taxpayer’s financial records and every Social Security beneficiary’s data. That’s an outrageous conflict of interest and a direct threat to public accountability.
