Trump says the war with Iran is “over.” He's lying.

Troops are still deployed. Tensions are still high. And Trump is still threatening escalation. Congress knows it, and they must stop him now.

The law gives presidents 60 days to wage war without Congress. After that, they must get approval or actually stop. That deadline is the only thing preventing endless, unauthorized war.

Trump is trying to beat it — by pretending the war is “terminated” while the danger continues. It’s a scam, and Congress can't let him get away with it.

Republicans in Congress have let Trump go way too far.

They’ve repeatedly voted down efforts to rein in this war. Now they’re giving Trump cover to lie — to them and to the American people — instead of enforcing the law.

If they let this stand, they'll tell Trump and every future president that they can unilaterally start a war anywhere, anytime — and keep it going forever by playing word games.

Without accountability, we'll see more endless, illegal wars that put troops at risk and make the Constitution optional.
