Tell Congress: Extend ACA premium tax credits before families get priced out

Republicans pushed massive Medicaid cuts — about $800 billion over 10 years — through Congress. Now they’re threatening a second hit: letting Affordable Care Act premium tax credits expire at the end of 2025, which could trigger huge premium hikes in 2026.

We can stop this — but only if Congress feels the heat now.

Here’s what’s at stake if they stall: premiums could jump by thousands a year for millions of people who buy coverage on the marketplace. Small business owners and the self-employed will be squeezed. Hospitals — especially rural ones already reeling from the Medicaid cuts — warn of more uninsured patients and higher uncompensated care.

There’s a path forward. Senate leaders have introduced legislation to reverse the Medicaid damage and extend the ACA credits. Even some Republicans say they’re open to a deal. The deciding factor is public pressure. When constituents speak up in big numbers, undecided lawmakers move—and those blocking progress get held accountable.

Make Congress feel it. Tell Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Leader John Thune, and your members of Congress: Extend the ACA premium tax credits now — before premium notices are sent out and families are priced out of care.

Healthcare is a right. We won’t let politicians raise our costs and call it “reform.”

Thanks,
Mary
