Tell Congress: Reverse Trump's Gas-Guzzler Rollback Now

Oil prices just surged. So what did Trump do? He made your next car burn more gas.

On September 28, the Trump administration finalized its rollback of fuel economy standards. New cars and trucks were on track to average about 50 miles per gallon by 2031. Now the target is about 35.

The timing couldn't be worse. The rollback landed right after Trump rejected Iran's offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, sending oil prices soaring above $107 a barrel. Families already struggling at the pump just got handed a bigger bill for years to come.

Trump claims looser rules will knock about $1,300 off a new car's sticker price. But a car that guzzles more gas costs you more every single time you fill up. Those savings vanish at the pump.

So who wins? Oil companies, selling more gas. And automakers like GM and Stellantis, which welcomed the rollback.

Who loses? Everyone else. The stronger standards were projected to save 14 billion gallons of gasoline by 2050. That's fuel drivers would never have had to buy.

Congress must use its power to reverse this rollback now. Every member who stays silent is choosing Big Oil over the drivers they represent, just five weeks before voters head to the polls.

Thanks for all that you do,
