Tell Congress: Stop the War on Medication Abortion
Last week, a federal appeals court moved to restrict access to abortion pills — and the Supreme Court could let those restrictions take effect within days.
The 5th Circuit’s ruling targets mifepristone, a safe, FDA-approved medication used in more than half of all abortions in the United States. The Supreme Court issued a one-week stay, but if MAGA justices allow the decision to stand, telehealth prescriptions and abortion pills by mail could be severely restricted nationwide.
That would devastate millions of people — especially patients in states with abortion bans, rural communities, and healthcare deserts who rely on telehealth medication abortion as one of their only options for care. Congress must act before it's too late.
Medication abortion has been safely used for decades and is backed by overwhelming scientific evidence. But anti-abortion extremists are trying to override medical science and impose nationwide restrictions they could never pass democratically.
Extremists in Congress have joined the fight to make medication abortion illegal, making false claims about the safety of medication abortion drugs that were approved by the FDA decades ago. But with the midterms rapidly approaching, some are finally starting to understand that a majority of Americans oppose these attacks on reproductive freedom.
That's why it's crucial that we demand Congress act now. Lawmakers can protect telehealth abortion access, defend the FDA’s scientific authority, and stop these attacks before millions lose access to care.
Thanks for all that you do,
