Republicans in Congress are rushing to bypass democracy to push their agenda—and it’s putting all of us at risk.

Instead of negotiating real immigration reform to end the continuing shutdown, Republican leaders are trying to force DHS funding through budget reconciliation—a procedural shortcut designed to avoid debate, compromise, and accountability.

By refusing to work with Democrats, Republicans are continuing to enable Donald Trump’s deeply unpopular, extreme anti-immigrant agenda—one that has stripped civil rights, expanded abusive enforcement, and put lives at risk, contributing to preventable deaths while leaving communities less safe and workers caught in the middle.

Tell Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and Republican leadership: stop bypassing democracy and negotiate real DHS reform to end the shutdown now.
