The Senate could advance Scott Mayer’s nomination any day. Workers’ rights are on the line.

The Senate is moving toward a vote on Scott Mayer — Donald Trump’s pick for the National Labor Relations Board — and the consequences for workers could be enormous. After a delayed vote, the Senate HELP Committee is preparing to advance his nomination again, and momentum is building in the wrong direction.

Mayer has built his entire career defending corporations accused of violating workers’ rights. He served as Boeing’s top labor attorney and spent years at a major management-side firm known for representing employers fighting against organizing campaigns and avoiding accountability. That’s not who we need on the nation’s top labor board.

At a moment when the NLRB is barely functioning and hundreds of worker cases are stalled, confirming Mayer would lock in a pro-employer majority that could tip the scales even further against working people. Instead of restoring balance, his confirmation would empower corporations and weaken the rights workers depend on.

Thanks,
Mary
