This federal program isn’t for billionaires

Elon Musk is worth over $200 billion. His company, Neuralink, is valued at $9 billion.

And yet, Neuralink just claimed status as a “small disadvantaged business” to gain access to federal contracts meant for women- and minority-owned small businesses.

Yes — really.

This filing came while Musk was leading the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, where he was gutting federal agencies. Now his company wants a cut of the very systems he worked to dismantle.

The Department of Justice has previously fined companies for misrepresenting their eligibility in this program. If Neuralink is allowed to get away with this, it sets a dangerous precedent for every future billionaire with a lawyer and a loophole.

We need immediate action from the SBA and President Trump.

These protections weren’t made for billionaires. They were made to help underserved communities compete in a rigged system.

Let’s make sure they still mean something.

Thanks,
Mary
