Trump Doubles Down on Union-Busting —Congress Must Act

Donald Trump has just launched one of the most sweeping attacks on federal workers in decades. With the stroke of a pen, he terminated union rights at key agencies like the Patent Office, NASA, and the National Weather Service. These orders build on Trump’s first round of anti-union executive actions issued in March, which already targeted federal workers.

His executive orders strip away federal employees’ ability to collectively bargain, silence their unions, and make it easier to fire workers who dare to speak out . This isn’t just an attack on federal unions — it’s an attack on all working people.

But there’s a way to fight back.

Congress can rescind Trump’s anti-worker executive orders and restore union rights for federal employees — but only if they pass the Protect America’s Workers Act. Lawmakers like Rep. Jared Golden and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries are already demanding a vote to overturn Trump’s union-busting policies. Now, they need grassroots pressure to make it happen.

The AFL-CIO and federal workers’ unions are calling this legislation essential to restoring fairness and protecting the rights of those who serve our country. With enough public outcry, Congress can act quickly to rescind Trump’s orders and safeguard the freedoms of millions of workers.

Trump thought he could silence unions by executive fiat. Let’s prove him wrong.

Thanks,
Mary
