Trump Gutted Disaster Response — Now Flooded Families Are Paying the Price
When deadly floods struck Texas this summer, communities turned to FEMA for help — but Trump’s reckless cuts have left disaster response in crisis.
Trump slashed over $3.6 billion in FEMA grants meant to help states and local communities prepare for floods, hurricanes, and other disasters. Furthermore, he gutted key programs across NOAA and the National Weather Service, crippling our ability to forecast storms and respond in a timely manner.
These cuts didn’t just weaken government—they endangered lives.
Now, as extreme weather worsens, states are suing to stop the damage. But Congress must do more. We need a full investigation into how Trump’s dangerous cuts are putting Americans at risk.
Disaster readiness shouldn’t be political—it’s about protecting families, homes, and lives.
Thanks,
Mary
