Trump Is Silencing the Public’s Voice
Your voice should matter in our democracy. But the Trump administration is making it harder for people like you to have a say.
The government just shut down the tool that made it simple to submit public comments on new rules. Now the process is confusing and harder to access, giving insiders and lobbyists the upper hand. At the same time, officials quietly removed other features for public input, further excluding everyday people.
While the public is being silenced, businesses are being invited to suggest which protections and regulations should be rolled back. Corporate voices are being amplified while ours are shut out.
Public comment periods are one of the few ways we can directly shape policies that affect our lives — on clean air, safe water, fair wages, and more. If we lose that power, the rules will be written only by and for the wealthy and well-connected.
That’s why we need you to act.
Together, we can keep government open to everyone—not just the privileged few.
Thanks,
Mary
