Trump’s Billion-Dollar Presidency Demands Accountability
Donald Trump does not leave the presidency poorer. He leaves vastly richer.
Independent reporting and congressional investigators show that Trump and his family are making extraordinary profits during his second term in office — through business deals, foreign-linked payments, licensing arrangements, and rapidly expanding crypto ventures that raise serious concerns about corruption and self-dealing. This is not normal political fundraising or post-office speaking fees. It is a direct and ongoing monetization of public power.
The scale is staggering. Trump’s wealth grows dramatically as he returns to office, and watchdogs warn that his financial entanglements create major conflicts of interest. Recent findings from House Judiciary Democrats expose a multi-billion-dollar Trump family crypto empire fueled by self-dealing and foreign-linked money, with little transparency and virtually no accountability.
This is not about partisan politics. It is about whether a president uses the highest office in the country as a personal profit engine — and whether Congress is willing to enforce basic ethics standards and the Constitution.
Congress has the authority and responsibility to investigate Trump’s profits from the presidency, examine whether foreign governments and private interests enrich him through his businesses and crypto ventures, and determine whether laws were broken or constitutional violations occurred.
No one is above the law. If Congress fails to act now, it sends a clear message that the presidency is for sale.
Thanks,
Mary
