Trump’s Redistricting War Could Rig Congress for a Decade
Donald Trump is moving fast to rewrite America’s political map — literally. Right now, his administration and Republican allies are rushing through partisan redistricting in Texas, Ohio, Indiana, and beyond to lock in GOP control of Congress for the next decade.
This isn’t routine map-drawing — it’s a coordinated power grab. Trump’s Justice Department is pressuring states to dismantle independent redistricting commissions, override voter-approved reforms, and impose maps that silence communities of color and progressive voters.
In Texas, the new GOP map could wipe out multiple Democratic districts. In Ohio and Indiana, Republicans are pushing to dismantle fair maps and give them an advantage they couldn’t win at the ballot box. If we don’t stop this now, millions of voters will be trapped in districts engineered to strip them of real political power.
The good news? Public pressure works. When enough of us speak out, we give Democratic governors and legislatures the political strength to reject illegal maps, empower voting rights lawyers to win emergency injunctions, and force Congress to act — every signature matters.
We can’t afford to wait — each week, more districts are locked under gerrymanders designed to keep Trump and his allies in power, no matter how we vote.
Our democracy only works if every voter’s voice counts equally. Together, we can stop this — but only if we act before it’s too late.
Thanks,
Mary
