Underpaid, overwhelmed, and leaving: Teachers need our help.

Teachers are burning out. Classrooms are empty. And our kids are being left behind.

Senator Bernie Sanders just introduced the Pay Teachers Act — a bold bill that would guarantee every public school teacher in America earns at least $60,000 a year.

Currently, nearly 1 in 3 teachers earns below that. Almost 20% of first-year teachers earn under $40,000. It’s no wonder nearly 1 in 8 teaching positions are vacant or filled by someone who is not fully certified.

This is a full-blown national crisis.

Teachers face more stress and anxiety than almost any other profession. They're overworked, underpaid, and walking away in droves. And unless Congress acts now, it will only get worse.

The Pay Teachers Act can help stop the bleeding—but only if we turn up the pressure.

Public pressure is the only reason this bill exists. Now it’s the only thing that can push it forward.

Let’s flood Congress with signatures before it’s too late.

Thanks,
Mary
