VA Doctors Can Now Refuse to Treat Unmarried or Democratic Veterans — Reverse This Now

Doctors at VA hospitals can now legally refuse to treat patients based on political affiliation or marital status. That means veterans who are unmarried — or who vote Democrat — could be denied care by the very system meant to serve them.

These dangerous new guidelines, rooted in Trump’s Executive Order 13950, are already in effect at some VA medical centers. And they don’t just impact doctors — psychologists, dentists, social workers, and even speech therapists can now turn patients away for personal, political reasons.

The language that once protected patients from this kind of discrimination has been stripped out. And shockingly, VA staff can now even be fired based on their political party or union activity.

This is outrageous—and dangerous. Our veterans put everything on the line for this country. Denying them care based on who they are or what they believe is a betrayal.

Congress and the Department of Veterans Affairs must act immediately to revoke this policy and reinstate protections for all veterans and VA workers.

Thanks,
Mary
